In a move to protect investors from fraudulent cryptocurrency schemes, the Wyoming Securities Division announced a crackdown on illegal activities in the digital asset space. On December 26, 2025, the division revealed that it had identified several companies engaged in deceptive practices and had taken enforcement actions against them.One such company, CryptoGainz LLC, was found to be soliciting investments in a fake cryptocurrency project promising high returns with little to no risk. The division issued a cease and desist order against CryptoGainz LLC and fined the company $100,000 for violating state securities laws.In another case, the division uncovered a Ponzi scheme operated by a company called BitConnectX, which had defrauded investors out of millions of dollars. The division worked with federal authorities to shut down the scheme and freeze the assets of the perpetrators."These enforcement actions send a clear message that Wyoming will not tolerate fraudulent activities in the digital asset space," said John Doe, Securities Commissioner of Wyoming. "We are committed to protecting investors and maintaining the integrity of our securities markets."The division also issued a warning to investors to be cautious when investing in cryptocurrencies and to do their due diligence before trusting their money with any company.
