Failure to do so could result in delays or denials of their claims. Additionally, injured workers must seek medical treatment from a healthcare provider within 48 hours of the incident, and provide documentation of their injuries to their employers within five days.The new guidelines also include provisions for employers, who are now required to submit injury reports to the Workers Compensation Board within three days of receiving notice from an injured employee. Employers who fail to comply with this requirement may face fines or other penalties."These new guidelines are a necessary step towards ensuring that injured workers receive the compensation they deserve in a timely manner," said John Smith, spokesperson for the Wisconsin Workers Compensation Board. "By streamlining the claims process and holding both employees and employers accountable, we hope to reduce the backlog of cases and improve overall satisfaction with the system."In addition to the new reporting requirements, the Workers Compensation Board has also implemented changes to the way claims are reviewed and processed.
