On December 17, 2025, indigenous tribes and native populations in New Jersey came together to celebrate Cultural Heritage Day, a day dedicated to honoring their shared history, traditions, and resilience in the face of adversity.The event, held at the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribal Community Center in Bridgeton, brought together members of various native tribes, including the Lenape, Nanticoke, and Powhatan, to showcase their unique cultural practices, art, music, and dances. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the rich history and traditions of these indigenous communities through storytelling sessions, traditional craft demonstrations, and a historical exhibit featuring artifacts and photographs.One of the highlights of the event was a special ceremony to honor the elders of the tribes, who have played a crucial role in preserving and passing down their cultural heritage to younger generations.
