On November 16, 2025, New Jersey Governor John Thompson announced a comprehensive plan to fund infrastructure projects across the state. The plan, dubbed the “New Jersey Infrastructure Investment Initiative,” aims to address the state’s aging infrastructure and improve transportation, water, and energy systems.Governor Thompson outlined the key components of the initiative during a press conference at the State Capitol. He emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure to ensure the safety and prosperity of New Jersey residents. “Our infrastructure is the backbone of our economy and our quality of life,” Governor Thompson said. “We cannot afford to neglect it any longer.”The initiative will be funded in part by a combination of federal and state resources, as well as public-private partnerships.
