On September 10, 2025, the Maryland Mediation Center announced that they have received a grant from the state government to expand their services and reach more individuals in need of conflict resolution assistance. The grant, totaling $500,000, will allow the center to hire additional mediators, open new office locations, and implement new programs to better serve their clients.The Maryland Mediation Center, established in 2000, has been providing mediation services to individuals, families, businesses, and communities across the state for over 25 years. The center offers a variety of mediation services, including family mediation, workplace mediation, community mediation, and court-ordered mediation.With the grant funding, the Maryland Mediation Center plans to hire three new full-time mediators to join their team of experienced professionals. These mediators will work closely with clients to help them resolve disputes and conflicts in a peaceful and constructive manner. Additionally, the center will open two new office locations in underserved communities to make their services more accessible to those in need.In addition to expanding their team and office locations, the Maryland Mediation Center will also introduce new programs aimed at preventing conflicts before they escalate. This includes partnering with local schools to provide conflict resolution training to students and teachers, as well as offering workplace mediation training to businesses and organizations."We are thrilled to receive this grant funding, which will allow us to expand our services and reach more individuals who are in need of mediation assistance," said Sarah Johnson, Executive Director of the Maryland Mediation Center.
